The ”LiquidPower” project (JTI-FCH (EC) financed project), aiming on developing a new generation fuel cell systems for the early markets of back-up-power/telecom (BT) and material handling vehicles (MH) includes Catator’s innovative onsite pressurized methanol reformation system named Optiformer.
Early results from our commissioning test shows that we reached the aimed capacity of 10 Nm3/h of H2. The gas composition (based on dry gas) is; CO = 2.6%; CH4 = 1.7%; H2 = 73%. Optimization of operation conditions indicates that we can reach lower concentration of both CO and CH4 and consequently somewhat higher concentration of H2.
The Reformer system will soon be integrated with a PSA system, developed by one of our partners in the project, Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik, ZBT Germany.
