Catator has developed a number of different catalytic burners for various applications for several decades. Most of the burners are used in different fuel cell systems, boiler applications and other heat or steam production applications.
The cooled burners can be operated with most type of fuels and cooled with various coolants such as water, oil, chemical flow, etc. The cooled burners can be extremely compact with simple and low cost design. The units are robust with negligible risk for thermo-mechanical fatigue and still with a low pressure drop. A variety of configurations with respect to inlet/outlets are possible.
Example of a cooled burner is presented above. It is a combined start-up and anode waste gas burner used in a fuel cell system. Capacity 20 kWt; Dimensions: volume 1,7 liters, weight 1,5 kg, pressure drop < 10 mbar
